How can I find the best place to get dental work done?
Building and maintaining a healthy smile can be a personal endeavor, and it’s only natural to want to find the best providers to help you. But if you’re on the market for a new dentist, you might not know how to find someone who can meet your unique needs.
If you’re unsure how to begin, you might start by listing a few key priorities for your dental care. For example, do you need an office that is in-network with your insurance policy? Do you anticipate wanting or needing specific services that must be offered? Are you seeking a location close to home? Answering these questions can help you find a dentist who checks off all the right boxes.
How can I find a provider who places dental implants?
Dental implants are the only replacement teeth that are embedded directly into your jawbone, so in many cases, a specialist is required to place them. As a result, many dentists refer patients out to experts, such as an oral surgeon, periodontist, or prosthodontist, to perform the procedure.
But our providers in Lenox have completed advanced training and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to place and restore dental implants in-house for your convenience. Before proceeding, you must schedule a consultation so we can examine your condition, update your medical history, and discuss your smile goals to determine whether this treatment is right for you.
What if I’m too anxious to visit the dentist?
Many people feel nervous when it comes to sitting in the dental chair, regardless of the reason for your visit. That means you’re not alone if you’re feeling anxious, have a sensitive gag reflex, struggle to sit still, or have other conditions that make it difficult to receive dental care.
As a result, we offer two options for dental sedation. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is inhaled through a mask placed over your nose while we work, and it usually induces a sense of relaxation or euphoria; you might even get a bad case of the giggles. We also offer oral conscious sedation in pill form that usually results in a deeper sense of calm. Either way, you’re unlikely to recall the details of your procedure after the fact.
What level of education is required to become a dentist?
All dentists must meet specific criteria to be licensed to work with patients, and our team is no exception. Usually, they begin by achieving a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Then, they must earn a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from one of 70+ institutions accredited by the ADA (American Dental Association). From there, dentists can choose to focus on one of the 12 officially recognized specialty topics.
At our office in Lenox, Dr. Young and Dr. Samona earned their advanced degrees from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and Dr. Jarosz achieved hers from the University of Detroit Mercy.
What if I can’t afford dental services?
Our office proudly accepts many major dental insurance plans, but we also understand that not all patients carry a policy. If you’re concerned about affording our services, you might benefit from one of the following options:
- In-House Membership. Our in-house savings plan includes two checkups annually as well as discounts on many other services we offer in the office.
- Flexible Financing. We also accept flexible payments through CareCredit and Proceed Finance. If your application is approved, these low- to no-interest plans allow you to divide your invoice into more manageable installments over a designated period.
